If you take the 225 to 0.050” over you can use a standard 231 or Buick 350 piston. Might give you some more options depending on what your build goals are.

That's an interesting fun fact. I took two blocks in with the intent of using the better of the two. One had already been bored .030 over and was going to .060 over, but my jeep advisor said that would be too far and I'd likely have overheating problems. The other block was in worse shape visually, but is original and only needs .040 to get back in shape I guess. But that block also needs a line bore for the crank so it's give and take I suppose. The machine shop is going to do the crank and piston bores, new bearings, restore the connecting rods and install new pistons, deck the head surface, and grind the crank. I haven't taken the heads down yet. Those will have to wait until the block is finished and payday comes around again

My motor should be ready for pickup this week and while I wait I decided to work on boxing the front frame horns in preparation for the Saginaw conversion.

I picked up the block yesterday. The shop installed all thebearings and core plugs, put the new pistons on the rebuilt connecting rods and ground the crank. I thought they were going to actually install the pistons and crank but I apparently misunderstood. Oh well, gives me something more to learn. The heads were dropped off Tuesday and I haven’t heard anything yet on those.

I found a used soft top for a good price. It's missing one of the door brackets that bolts to the windshield, the one that matches the windshield bracket. Anyone have on laying around?

This is what I'm missing - it's the same piece as the aluminum windshield channel that screws to the side of the windshield and the door fabric slides into. I am missing one. I have all the hinges like posted in that photo. Roc- PM incoming!

Yes! I’ll take the pair if they’re available. The one I have isn’t beveled at the end like those.

Thanks to Roc, I have doors mounted. I'm looking at having windshield glass cut and installed locally. What is the collective thought on using the windshield glass gasket versus some kind of glue? I'm trying to get quotes and one shop already said it'd be around $550 not including the rubber gasket that I would need to supply. I emailed photos of the windshield frame to another shop and will hopefully have a response tomorrow.

$550 for glass sounds crazy....I don't know anything about Oregon prices but that sounds astronomical to me. |

I have no idea what the market is for glass installation, but I gave the lady I talked to a swift "thanks but no thanks" reply. Hopefully this other shop I contacted offers something a bit more reasonable. It shouldn't be too complicated or expensive...
