$500 ?????? That is about 10 times too much. Maybe she was quoting for bullet proof glass.

I was able to get the two panes cut at a local glass shop for about $50 each. I even had a choice of clear or green tint 1/4" safety glass.

I use glass setting tape to install these, the rubber seals are almost always a problem to install, and I advise against any kind of "glue" especially silicone as that can be a real problem to remove later on if you break a window.

Friction tape works too.
If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Thanks for the tips.  I'll definitely keep looking!  I hear that the tape is the way to go.  After I posted my question, I saw someone had started a similar thread in general discussion - oopsSmile  Hopefully the shop I talked to yesterday will comeback today with a reasonable quote.  I'll report back.

I need to run a tap for my tie rod.  I plan to run stock 2a ends for now.  Is the correct tap size 11/16-18?

I got my tie rod figured out.  The 225 is almost assembled.  A friend of a friend who is a retired mechanic and Jeep fanatic is doing the assembly for me.  I'm excited to see it, hopefully soon!

I got the soft top fully installed, but removed it when my home fell into Level 2 evacuation just in case.  Now I'm not sure I'll be able to get it back on with the cooler temps and rain - nuts...

I’m in Oregon City. The fire never got real close but level 3 came up to about 3mi from my house. I had a buddy who was evacuated from Beavercreek.

Yeah, that sucks.  I was up @ Detroit the Saturday & Sunday night before the sh*t hit the fan.
We left Monday @ noon-ish...  there was discussion on staying another night, glad we came home!

My inlaws cabin is one of the few left standing up there, but the house next door is leveled - go figure.

The photos and video I've seen of the devastation in that area is just unreal.

My place in Damascus only got to level one, but level two was getting close! Very smoky though. I work in Oregon City, Wednesday was unbearable.

My motor is assembled! Oil pressure read 45psi with the drill.  I don't have a garage and my brother (really his wife) is nice enough to let me keep it there for now.  I plan to pull the jeep over to his place and do the install there.  I'm really excited to have the motor back and ready to goBig smile

I towed the flattie over to my brother’s house for the winter, he’s letting me use part of the garage.

Yesterday I started painting the motor in my makeshift paint booth.

Mine is 46877, so 1195 after yours.  It would be interesting to know the lives the lead before we got them.

I got an overdrive!  I have been looking for awhile now and kept coming up empty.  A couple days ago I found an NOS 26 tooth Warn overdrive on Craigslist 4 hours from me.  The price was right so I took advantage of the holiday and made a roadtrip to Ellensburg, WA.

Finally have the motor set on its mounts in the frame. T90 and Dana 18 are also in. The list is getting shorter but still have a long way to go.
