I have come across what looks like an original 1946 cj-2a maintenance manual and I was woundering if any one else has one. How rare is it? It is just for 1946 copyright 1945. Just curious.

There are quite a few still out there.  They come up on ebay quite often.

Are you certain it's a "Maintenance" manual, and not just an "Owners" manual?

So far, only '45 & '48 maintenance manuals are known to exist.

Please post a photo of the cover, or quote the title exactly.

i have quite a few 46's....never seen a 45, yet...maybe they do not exist, i don't know...

thx for the offer Dave, but not really, i have a delapidated one that i use righteously (sp?), and another that is my savoring model.....

but i am always on the lookout for one in better condition than either that i have :)

With a '45 copyright, that's the typical '45 manual.  What made you think it was '46?

Originals are few and far between, but do surface occasionally.  Looks in good condition, it's a keeper!

Like this? (not mine, sold on ebay 1.5+ years ago for $227):

And a slightly different '45 maintenance manual:

I had it in my mind that 46 was the first year of the cj-2a.

sean, i have one like the one in your right picture, the green looking one...but it says 1946 1st edition....

do any of yours actually say 1945?  just curious

edit: but it does have the same color, and style cover as the 1945 maintenance manual...

It says it's for a '46 model?  or just the copyright?

I've never seen any manual that specifies a model year, only the copyright year.
