Bought this one a little while and just picking away a little at a time. Needs a starter and new primary circuit. Replaced both front springs already with a set from Walcks. Pull the fuel tank today to find the leak and it's along the bottom rear edge. There was a bunch of little pebbles that apparently stated the problem. Unfortunately most of my pictures are on my cell, so I'll have to post these later. Mostly original parts I believe, but I'll submit that to your scrutiny .

We love pictures LOL

I have a decent imagination though, in my minds eye it looks similar to this:

Yes it does Sonny. You have such a keen minds eye. And great imagination.

Removed the seats and fuel tank this week. I was wondering if a copper fuel fill neck was common on early 46's. I've never seen one or noticed one from my past Jeeps. This tank has pin holes on the bottom rear edge seam. Inside the tank is fairly clean and I am going to do my best to save it. Also wondering if the tank sending unit looks to be original. Let me know what you think.

Your fuel sender from the underside looks to be original maybe. Looking at the top (you don’t show), the original is not flat, it would have a rectangular box like on the cover with the contact screw.
I’ve never seen a fuel tank with a Cu neck. I suspect it’s steel (try magnet test). You’re probably perhaps seeing well worn old primer color? Cu was expensive (and rare following war years) then as now plus being very ‘soft’ metal I wouldn’t think Willys would use. Cu was needed for more critical conductive uses.

Yes it is and surprising how smooth it shifts. Still fairly tight in the pattern to.

Tom, not yet. I put it away last fall. I lost both my parents last year and between that and buying their house and being executor of the estate, it took most of my building time away. This winter I've been concentrating on finishing my 68 CJ-6, which was a frame off I started prior to the VEC. Glad to say, the 68 is coming along pretty well and hoping to have it done in a month or so. But I promise to get after this one.

flattiesrule, not sure which one you'd like pictures of. I presently have 3 in the stable. Only two I have pictures of on the laptop.

Actually, could only find one on here.

Willysauria it's in storage right now, but when it comes out, I'll post for you. I'm sure someone here knows the dimension s though. Maybe they can weigh in.
