The jeep was my first vehicle that I bought when I was 15 years old.  Did a quick fix restoration then and used it as a daily driver, trap line and plowed snow when I was a kid.  After years of work and life it got pushed off to the side.  Now, 37 years later, I have time to go through it and fix it the way it should be.  Wanting to keep it as original as I can.

Started several years ago and sandblasted the frame, ect and have most parts primed.  The engine is at the shop with a stuck piston.  Just a little over my lack of experience and tools to tackle the re-sleeve and all that.  I lost all my pictures when dismantling it so I will start over with a primed frame.  I bought a new body with a cj3 windshield frame since my old tub was in rough shape.  Saved the stamped "Willys" out of the hood and tailgate.

Been lurking on the forum and really enjoy all the info and how to do it.  I look forward to sharing my experience and reading about everybody else's venture and share mine!  Thank God for the forum and You Tube, just wish I had wifi at the shop!  When not tinkering on the Jeep I have my nose in the computer!

I have been re-bitten by the Jeep bug!  I really appreciate any help or advice.

Thanks
Jeff

Lol, Didn't realize the deer in the pic.  One is a 130 class and the other is 150 class buck.  Live where a lot of really nice deer.  Old world record was shot about 10 miles from me.  See if I can find a 177 my buddy shot. Will PM you if I can figure it out.

About the only picture that I can find.  It was circa low 1980's.  My very first vehicle and a quick restore and paint job when I was in high school. Didn't know what I was doing but was a daily driver.  Still don't know what Im doing but thanks to this forum and youtube.  Hopefully get it restored before the better half looses patients with me working on it all the time!

Having a heatwave today so I went to the shop to look for something to bring home and work on.  Prepped the frame for POR 15 coating later in the week when it's warmer.  Took home the Sears / Selectro hubs for a makeover and watch a little football.

I didn't know at the time (37 years ago) that I was living vicariously through my father.  I was introduced to the Willys, talked about the Willys, excited about the Jeep because my father was impressed with them in WWII.  He got caught up life, work, raising kids and doing what he had to do.  So of coarse when I became older, he convinced me on buying one so he didn't have to ask for my Moms approval.

I worked hard mowing, odd jobs, shoveling snow, trapping to save money to buy my current 1947 CJ2A.  I had saved $500 and my father happily financed the remaining $500 to purchase the jeep with the promise to repay the loan.  In 1980 my first Jeep "Betsy" came home.  Don't ask me how she got the name, I can't remember!  After buying/mounting a snow plow the payments became easier to make.

After years of enjoyment, I had to begin my life and off to college I went.  Left behind Betsy to my father to plow snow and enjoy as a daily driver!  I missed a lot of days seeing his enjoyment of driving Betsy around town.

I will post a picture of my father in a liberation/military parade in Italy during WWII late 1944-45.  This is where his love came from.  He is the officer in the passenger seat saluting.  After 26 years of service he retired a Lt, Col.  God rest his soul!

just found this thread.  Stay with it!  It took me 4 years to get mine done.  I didn’t know about this place or it would have only taken me about 4 months!  Lots of knowledge and encouragement here!  Keep posting for us.

PS, nice deer, would like to see all of ‘em.
