New to the Forum. I recently picked up this beauty from the Hill Country in Texas. All original except 12v conversion and electronic fuel pump. It's a Lefty too. Runs and drives, everything mechanical works. If I do anything body, it will be to remove the tub and replace the hat channels or small sections of it. Such a clean survivor.

Thanks!! It was well preserved. The tires are at least 50 years old, holding strong.

Looks like the original color is (or was) black. Not a common color for a jeep. Very solid example.

yessir. Definitely not a common color. As much as I’d like to do a frame off and make it an extremely unique build, it is deserving of the sanctity of survivor. I found some really nice original color in covered areas. I’m thinking of getting the seats redone in a tan color.

I think it is more beautiful now than it would ever be with shiny paint. Anybody can buy a can of paint. It takes 70 years to get a look like you’ve got right there now.
I love it!

Looks good except for the rust. Personally, I hate rust. I wouldn't be able to leave it rusty, but you might.

for sure. I’m not a fan of rust but in this case, it’s so well preserved and hasn’t been exposed to the elements with salt air or humidity. I might take a 3M Green pad with CLR... the. Wipe it down with WD40. There isn’t any holes other than pitting in the hat channels and that’s minimal. Mostly at the end of the tub

Looks great, lots to work with. It looks like you've got a lot of parts on it that can be hard to find too.

Very nice, solid lefty! I agree with your build plans as well. Glad to see another original paint jeep saved from the sandblaster. You cant replicate 70 years of patina! Welcome to the forum! |

thanks!! I appreciate it. I’m hoping to find a Jeep show or car show locally where I can put it on display for everyone to see. I love history and to know there’s so many people like me who learned how to drive with one of these flat fenders. It’s how I learned how to drive standard.
