If the one bid was for real, which I kinda doubt, the seller should take the money and run.

Reserve not met? Maybe he just wants to show his wife what a good investment all the money he spent on his Jeep was and set a $60,000.00 reserve. My 48 came with a cable pull "cow horn"? awouga horn? mounted on the fire wall. I think I remember JC Whitney selling them. Would that raise the value as much as a sireeen? I'll put it on the JD 420 crawler if not. :-)Vic

I just can't imagine someone looking at paint samples, picking out green metallic flake, and saying "Oh Yeah! That's the one!"
Looks to me like this Jeep still needs to be restored. People just can't grasp the difference between restoring and rebuilding. If the guy was more up front and honest in the description this auction wouldn't get much comment, but this is nuts. Or is he? After all, he may have gotten a bite. If it's not a shill then it's a fool with too much money. |

I'm sure that the one bid was his or somebody that knows him and I'd guess the reserve is set at right above that......probably $20k.

It's a bit like this one - http://www.milweb.co.uk/classifieds/large_image.php?ad=47743&cat=13
Only cheaper! (At 1.6:1 the green one is "only" £12200) Mind you - take a look at the prices of the military Jeeps over here! |

According to the description, that 2a was restored by Mike Scholer. His shop is about a half hour from me. Really nice guy although I've never had him do work for me, but from what I've seen he does a nice job. Definitely not cheap though. |

Bass-ackwards spring shackles
Steering column looks too long? No windshield wipers Bet there's a lot of bondo on the windshield skin. Looks smooth outside, but all dented inside. Nice "GOO" job on the carpet over the trannsmission cover MB head, possibly MB block (might be buy-back) |
