Thanks Mike. I may on the way home depending on my schedule. I'm taking I-40 now because I have business in Las Vegas before my monkey business in Moab. I'm passing through Mew Mexico right now.

Did you pass thru Amarillo on I-40? If so, we could have met up for a bite or wheeled a little here locally. We have some pretty cool trails here. Let me know if you (or any other flatfender folks) are passing thru here anytime. Always enjoy meeting up with Willys people.

I loaded Grampa's Jeep on to the trailer to head down in the morning to meet Jpet in Moab. My grandson was sitting in the drivers seat as I did up the straps. He was wiggling the steering wheel back and forth and as I took a closer look I noticed a lot more was moving around than should be. On closer inspection I found that the drivers side cross member was broken loose from the frame. Dang! Back off the trailer into the garage. Drivers side fender off. Grill off.

Here's the photo.

Got the grinder and welder out. I think I've got it fixed up. Splashed a little paint over the weld. Everything back together, back on the trailer ready for on time launch in the morning.

Lots of drama but not much jeeping:

It's much bigger than the license plate.

... now I know how BAM BAM feels!

..... there is an easier way:

.... anywho, on the way out of Arches, some lady turned right in front of me:

...... Nobody got hurt. Truck is toast BAM BAM broke his hangers and slid 5 feet forward on the trailer. Then when I took him off the trailer, I broke an axle shaft:

... so much for chromoly.

shooting for better luck tomorrow.

OH MAN!!!  Hope your OK. You're gonna be pretty sore.

Sounds like a logistics nightmare to get home without a truck.

Wow, sorry Jeff. Glad you guys are OK. Dealers and car lots are full of trucks, but not any more folks. Maybe time to upgrade to a better hill puller huh? How did the lady in the car do? That was a hard hit. John

Glad your ok. Trucks are replaceable, but good jeeping buddies are not. Be extra careful the rest of the week! I would suggest a 2500hd duramax, two jeeps, can't even tell their back there. Lol. Have fun!!! WADE

The lady, her husband, and two little ones are all ok. We actually were not going very fast but the hit was almost direct as you can see. Not sure what to do about a truck right now. Still processing it all. This hobby is expensive.

Sorry for your problems, but as others as said Trucks are replaceable, Bam Bam is repairable and everyone is OK.
