I got ducked in Moab. I didn’t see who did it but I have a pretty good idea .... anywho, this is where I found it and this is where it has remained for two months. I hope to find a similar nook for this new one so it can share in the adventures. I know this is an FB thing but I’m not on FB. If someone else wants to post it they can. |

FWIW - there's definitely Facebook activity about it, but it's not (only) a Facebook thing. It's everywhere in the "Jeep family." |

What was the problem that was found that kept Trippy from starting?

Combination of basic things. The MAIN issue I found was that it was massively flooded.... No doubt as a result of the repeated attempts to start it. The intake had at least a pint of liquid gas laying in it. Pulled off the carb and used up half a roll of paper towels soaking up gas. Then removed the spark plugs and had Dave spin it over for a while to air it out. Plug wires were wrong at the distributor cap, but guys had been switching things around to try different scenarios. And the same applied to the wiring on the coil. Earlier, they had decided they didn't trust the coil and had rigged a different one into the circuit. Got the fuel system dried out, put all the wires back where they belonged, put the carb back on, and put it on TDC to get the timing close enough to run - and it fired right up. Ran fine.
