Finally got the transfer case back together with a LOT of help from my good friend Ken.

That was a full day.

Next is to attach it to the T90, set up the parking brake, touch up the paint and mount it to the frame.

Also the garage rebuild has finally started since the fire this last summer. I’m looking forward to a new shop space in the new year.🙂

Jon: What you have on the TC rebuild looks awesome, but I'm afraid the parking brake is going to cause some problems. You are going to find that the E-brake operating lever (OEM p/n A-17254) will not install without removing the brake backing plate first. Ask me how I know this...

Glad to see that your garage is going back together. I'm impressed with the careful work that you do in your restoration. Cheers...

Thanks for the tip.
Live and learn.

Appreciated

Jon

So more like this??

I knew that square window in the brake backing plate had a purpose!

I “up-cycled” some old T90 parts into a planter for my daughters birthday gift.

It gave me a chance to practice my welding.
I still suck at it, but she does not know that.

I got the propeller shafts apart today.
I let them soak in solvent for 48 hours.
I pressed out the U joints with sockets and a bench vice.

I got the propeller shafts and the bell housing sand blasted today.

I also got the brass locking hub switches cleaned in by blasting them with crushed walnut shells.

I picked up new seals for them too. I got them dry assembled and they work like new. Can’t wait to install them permanently!

O Jon i had a tool box drawer full of international harvester hub parts when i worked at a IH dealer, they had a auto hub too at one time for the scout that when engaged it would work in forward and reverse, and after packing the parts all over from shop to shop i had to make room for more tools so they ended up in the recycle bin
lets go for a rip eh bud

No worries Andy.
That’s Murphy’s law. Shortly after you toss something out you find you needed it.
I found what I need on the IFFC Facebook page.

Thanks

I got the pyrene in White Rock a few months ago on Craigslist. The other two are from an antique store in Ladner.

They have a few more available if you are looking.
They are on Facebook at Dragonfly Antique and Salvage.

All prices are negotiable.

No work on the jeep since I got the propeller shafts done. However the garage is well on the way to being rebuilt and I practiced my welding skills by fabricating a new shop table.

Hope to start on the engine rebuild soon.
