I picked up a chaff screen recently too. Are you going to put anything inside the clips to prevent scraping the paint on the grille? I was thinking a foam tape could work.

Naw, no foam, no tape... there's four coats of paint on there-  That oughta be protection enough Wink

So a month later and not much progress, life continues to be hectic.... but any progress is progress.  Most free time has been sourcing parts (cuz I can shop from my desk LOL) or actually driving it.  More wheel stripping today, #4 in metal prep and the last one stripped waiting on a date with the grinder pad.  I get this last one in prep and they all get the anemic sandblast treatment.
.
.
.
Best part of the whole day was finding one wheel that someone painted with top notch house paint, no primer Wacko...it was melting as I spread the aircraft stripper and I just wiped it off with a rag, like elmers glue.  Four minutes a side down to well preserved bare metal... which is good, cuz the other one sucked and still isn't done Wink

Gettin' there slowly-

LOL... I had all I could do to take the pic, and even if I'd thought of it, doing 46 where I was at the time might have gotten me killed Wink

The 46,000 miles on the odo is less significant than the almost 3,000 miles I've driven it to get there Smile

real world problems Smile

Working on getting canvas ready-

working up to a full seat resto, piece of the puzzle-

Today I was reminded why I like this community (as if I could forget LOL )

Just wanted to test your memory from approximately 4.5 years ago.  What did you use to grind clearance in the couter shaft of the T90 for the thrust washer.  I have a T90C an I am contemplating this mod to use the standard thrus washer.  I really enjoy your work.

I assume you mean the slots in the small end of the cluster gear?  If so that was a 1"dia cut off wheel in a dremel tool, freehand...if not, refresh my 4-1/2 yo memory? LOL

Your memory appears to be sharp as a tack.  Thanks.  I have that tool but it didn't occur to me...Embarrassed.  In the mean time I ordered another dual brass faced thrust washer to install without the tab clearance for the standard washer.  Thanks for the help.
