If you need to pull the motor, get the factory manual or an old chiltons or motor's manual, and pop it out. Leave the body alone. You do NOT want to start mission creep........

There are some tight bolts in the bellhousing area but you can get them without body surgery if you are patient and have some good tools. You can take off the front fenders for some more working room. Definitely pop off the hood anyway. ( Be real careful with those fender and hood  bolts, they like to break if not treated to some PB blaster first. )

Also beware of exhaust manifold bolts. Avoid removing them if possible, but be prepared for breaking studs and bolts. Some cut off the nuts and don't even risk breaking the studs, and many jeeps have prebroken studs you get to fix or have a machinist fix for ya.

Can't help ya on the PTO thing. Never owned a PTO equipped jeep. The clutch can be changed with just the engine removed.          Stock gearboxes are plenty sufficient for a hunting jeep. IF they work fine now just change fluids and reseal leaks if needed...

I agree with all the above. Do what F bill recomended to see how locked up it is. if it's locked up it will not hurt anything other than the time, (you'll have to do this anyway) to diagnois the problem to pull the head and oil pan. This will tell you what happened. If it's something simple (you didn't have a major failure because you got it in your drive) you may luck out somehow...and be able to fix it without pulling the engine.............Don't count on it, but I've been lucky on some of this stuff.
