Hi guys Im new to the forum. My name is AJ and Ive been looking through this site and researching for a few months now. Ive been looking to find a cj2a in a nice original condition. I came across this one thats not to far from me. Seller says everything is original/ no body works or aftermarket stuff added. Says theres very little surface rust. Ill attach some pics. What would be a ballpark price to pay for this? Thanks for all the help. Ill try to attach pics in next post

Mighty nice jeep, from what I can see so far. Guesstimates will vary widely (crazily!) from one opinion to another. Why ask us to throw out a number that may be outrageous to either you or the seller. Why not tell us what he is asking and let us tell you if we think it's reasonable or not, and why? BW

What a beautiful survivor! A time capsule for sure! This jeep could answer a LOT of questions asked around here about how things were originally. I would not restore this one, I would conserve it as it is and enjoy it. I'm a purist and there are only a couple of things I would return to original (a couple of worm-drive hose clamps, etc). Everyone who prices their jeep outrageously high thinks they have this one. I'm not really experienced with pricing jeeps except those on the other end of the spectrum, but I might say that he's not a long ways off. It could easily cost you that much to restore one to this level, and this is much better than a shiny new restored one. I would still drive it, make sure it goes, steers, stops, and runs as good as he says. I would also still check it for hat channel rust and all the normal problems.
A lot of money in my book, but it wouldn't surprise me to see it sell at that price. BW

Morning all I had a log in problem thats why I did not answer the serial number question. The number of my Jeep is 27942. As I stated I would consider selling it for 9500.00. It is complete and original The only thing missing is the top canvas. Mine turns over but no compression ] values].

Yes threads are mixed up. The green one in the pics is the one im going to look at/take home friday. We agreed on 20k. If everything is as good as he says itll be coming home with me this weekend. What does everyone think on that price? Is it to much or a decent deal?
Thanks AJ

See if you can get any/all parts that may have come off the Jeep. Couple things I notice missing is the ignition key coil and all the top Bow brackets.... Check under the distributer for a crack in the block. Make sure all your numbers match; engine, frame, body... Does your state require a title? Does it pop out of second gear when decelerating? Does the jeep have the rear PTO gearbox, drum and driveshaft?
