I guess you could call this a ranch find. It's all there, it's red, and it should run, because it did two months ago. Edited by AirCommando - 09 May 2021 at 8:54pm |

Looks a lot better than most of them I have brought home.
I have had 8 Jeeps in my life, and all but one of them had been red at some point, and only one of those was red originally. So, I think red is, or at least was, the most popular color.

If you can't get there in a Jeep you don't need to be there!

Wonder what that is on the front bumper, what that is on the dash, and what is that on the right rear wheel. Looks like a genuine factory farm implement, for a pump or saw. And is that pintle hook factory? How did it get bent that way without tweaking the frame? Maybe before it was installed?

Got a serial number? Might be a ‘47, but still good looking. Good luck on getting it running

No top bow pockets and no radiator support rod... so my guess is it’s a 3A.
Looks like snow plow cylinder mount on front bumper and looks like valve and tank was mounted between the seats. Compass on dash? Dual wheel adapter on back. Pintle hook was most likely bent while on the jeep. I doubt somebody would mount one already so bent.

I’m pretty sure that is a compass mounted in the dash. A quick search came up with: Kollsman bubble face (fishbowl) compass of approximately mid 40’s vintage. There are a lot of folks on here with many varied interests. I’m betting someone will know exactly what it is. I like it, looks to me to be right at home in the dash!
Nice find, welcome to the “madness” and the page! |

Well, I got her home to my property and then put her to bed with an aluminum half top from my previous one. Matches perfectly!

Kinda wondering why there is only one adapter, on the right side, for dual wheels. Guess that’s enough? For snow plowing?
