Recently located this 1947 Bantam T3-C to replace my M-100.  Originally a CA trailer and owned by the same person for the last 38 years!  Original data plate too.

It was always stored inside while in CA and NC.  Almost all the rust you see is surface only...a couple small areas that's more than surface but nothing major (unlike my poor old M100 that needed a lot of TLC).

Says it was media blasted and painted over 20 years ago...paint held up well but it's time for it to be redone.

It has what looks like CJ-2A wheels.  Plan is to repaint, add shock mounts (it bounces all over on the highway), and convert over to 16" wheels with NDT tires.

BTW, notice the axle bump stops...wooden stakes?!?!

Looks like a nice find. It would be great if you would share the info with Art http://bantamt3c.com/index.htm. The more info that we have on these, the better we understand them. As you've probably found out, there's not near the info on these than there is on other trailers (or jeeps, or maybe anything elseLOL) Thanks for sharing.

Will do.  Anyone know where I can locate a pair of 16" original wheels?

Repros are available, but I think they're kinda pricey. I found mine at a local Jeep junkyard/accessories dealer. Luckily I got one of the countermen who had worked there a while, and he says "the computer doesn't show anything(why didn't that surprise meLOL), but I think we have some somewhere" he called me back about 20 minutes later and I got them for $35.00 each. Worth a shot.

It's a shame you didn't have all those extra wheels when you were selling #17397.....you could have sold it as a complete jeep instead of parting it out. I know two or three that would have bought it even without the solid wheels it had on it, if it had been offered with another set of wheels.
