That's kinda what I was thinking too, except ford parts! A 3.56 or 3.73 with OD should make it roll down the road nice. I'm thinking new front suspension too just have to figure out what that's going to come from.

I picked up an ifs system tonight. Guy has a 33 Chevy with AMC pacer suspension. He's going to a straight axle. It's pretty much a bolt in deal with disc brakes and power rack and pinion steering.

So the newest thing is that I bought a 1948 jeepster off craigslist last week. Sits on an s10 frame, has a 350 and an auto trans. Not too bad shape wise. Needs floors and general work. I'm working on making it run right now just to see.

Anyone know about engine codes for the Chevy small block. This has the following numbers on it.
In front of the passenger side head 154 408525. K09 24 cmj
Casting number 3970010

Here's the jeepster. Sits down nice on that frame. Near as I can figure the motor is a 350 made on Sept 24, 1974, my 9th birthday.

After a few leak fixes and a battery explosion (good thing I covered the battery) the jeepster lives. The 350 fired right up and smoothed out to a nice idle. Oil pressure was at 50 Psi and now water leaks.

Being summer, my time on the jeepster is limited, but I have done a few things. I got the steering figured out. I am adapting the original column to the S-10 box. Also, I got the shifter worked out as well. I bought a shift kit from Limeworks Speed Shop that converts your old column shift to an automatic, in this case the TH350. It has a park lockout and detents for everything so it works just like any other auto shifter, but keeps the original look. It's a nicely made unit too.

Here's a little update on the jeepster project. I have the front clip off and am working on repairing damage to the fenders and the hood and such, then I'll put those away for paint. Same with the doors an windshield That should take up a good chunk of my winter.

As you can see, someone butchered the grill to get the radiator in. I have another grill and will use that. I need to change the mounts for the power steering pump and some other engine things, and get rid of their radiator setup and fan and change that out for stuff that works.

The biggest hurdle right now seems to be the s10 steering box is sort of in the way.
