I started to post this on the L-Head compression thread, but decided it maybe deserved it's own thread.

One of the cool things about our hobby is the infinite number of directions one can take it.
Can I make a Go Devil more devilish?
Can I fit xxx number of cubes in and still get the hood shut?
Will a stock running gear turn bigger tires? Lets try it. (I still say no, but Ryan (Spinnas) probably cheated at Pinewood Derby and never got caught.Wink)
Can I turn this pile of rust back to a factory fresh unit?
What can I make this pile of rust do in it's current, stockish, set up? (my favorite)
What crazy stuff can I do to this rig and still have it qualify as a flat fender?
Can someone please help me get this thing patched up so it will survive the next event?
V6, V8, turbo, Wankel (?!?), 6 volt, 12 volt, solid state ignition, points, power steering, ndts, power kings,  ice racing, mud bogging, parade riding, forest running, rock bashing, LEDs, roll cage, roll bar, overdrive, spring over....
And the list goes on and on.
I love it all and the passion you all have for the niche you have latched on to. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and experience, and thanks for your enthusiasm and passion.
Also, thanks for your interest and assistance to an old librarian that likes to drive his Willys.

For me over the years it's becoming less and less about the Jeep and the modifications and more about the people that these old rigs allow me to meet. Many of the guys I have met in this hobby are the folks I consider to be my best friends. I have friends scattered all over the USA because of an old Jeep I call Thumper. He allows me to join in on the craziness with you Stan.

The places you'll go and the people you'll meet!  Can't say enough about the kind and gracious people I've met with the jeep I call Lumpy.  It's important for me acknowledge it's not the jeep that made the friendships and adventures happen, it's the CJ2Apage.com that really made it possible.  I love this place!

Well said, thanks to everyone in the community, and to this board for helping us have another place to get to know each other!

And Stan, that picture…..!
I’ve seen the video but that picture makes my butt pucker!

Hah, honestly from the seat it didn't seem as dramatic as it looks, but I didn't make it and finally took a line to make it.

if you view it from another perspective, travelling on a horizontal plane, Stan could be giving it the Thelma and Louise treatment.

He just sailed right out there.   I'm happy to say that Stan took me to the very spot where that scene was filmed.

That is an awesome pic!    Stan wheeling into the sky

I have to agree, all the participants in this 2A forum and the OWF are great. I’m here every day reading the adventures and situations.
Been doing Willys since 1971. Including local eastern off-road many years ago. I watch all the Rocky Mtn fun (Stan, Jpet, et al) and would love to be there with you guys for that experience. It’s just a long trailer haul from Ohio. My ‘48 trail Jeep hasn’t been off road in years (death wobble) and is anxious to get going again. Once I finish my current pickup up renovation I plan to get that steering in shape. I’d like do start with the Ohio Fall Colors this year.
Thank you all for sharing your piece of our hobby.
Peace out.
