I thought this might be worth posting in order to lighten the mood a bit during these difficult times.
For most of my life I have been a WILLYS JEEP enthusiast. This photo is poof of that. Me in my 1st JEEP My folks were generous enough to purchase my 1st JEEP for me back in the early 60s. This was when I was a young pup around 4 or 5. I was hooked I fell in love with JEEPs. My grandparents lived next door and I would proudly "PEDAL" my Hamilton Air Force JEEP next door to visit them every day. Of course, I would park it prominently in their driveway for MSO (Maximum Show Off) & that was not appreciated when grandpa came home from work & I had hogged his parking spot! He was still glad to see it there because we were buds. In the late 60s my Hamilton Jeep was passed on to my nephews who lived directly behind my folks home. I was never pleased that my mom gave it away but I did enjoy seeing the young fellows having a ball with my old "Hamilton" JEEP. As time passed the Jeep sat out and deteriorated which was tough to watch but life goes on. Fortunately, a short while back a good friend of mine had purchased an almost identical Hamilton Pedal JEEP to mine. We struck a deal for me to be the caretaker of that wonderful bit of my history. As soon as this virus thing is over I will take possession of my 2nd little Hamilton Air Force Pedal JEEP. This is the only JEEP my wife was glad I had purchased! In fact she was thoughtful enough to take the old photo and pair it with another recent one as a gift for me on Valentines day a few years back. She is the best! My 1st JEEP & my Luzon Red 48, fifty years later! Well here is the little JEEP my wife was glad I just got! Thanks again to my buddy that made this happen! I will certainly cherish this for the rest of my days! Edited by 3-48s - 03 Apr. 2020 at 5:01am |

IMHO Patina Rocks! So yes it will remain as is in 'played with' condition. The only things I wish to do to make is as close to my 1st Hamilton Air Force JEEP as I can, is to is to get a good set of original NDTs, an original rear bumper and add the "used" original hood ornament I found on Ebay while looking for the NDTs & rear bumper. So now you need a matching full size Air Force flatty so you can park the two next to each other.

Well the pedal JEEP Gods smiled on me and I was fortunate enough to find some original HAMILTON Steel Products NDT tires for my Air Force Pedal JEEP.
Now I just need some original hub covers and an original rear bumper & he's all set for garage display! |
