We have an early Bantam which already has the holes for the shock mounts. Looks like D&L Bensinger sells reproduction shock mounts. I understand that the suspension and hubs on a Bantam are basically the same as a CJ2A front axle, so I would need the left and right shock mount plates for the axle. What shocks do you get, though? Also the same ones as a CJ2A? I haven't really seen any that are specifically marked as for a MBT, T3/T3C, M100, etc.

I use the manual for the T3, TM-10-1281. It's the same trailer as the T3-C except the few things that were swapped out to make it a civilian trailer. The dimensions, parts, etc are all in there. Very handy.
The shocks are very close and the shock plates seem to match as well. The springs are the same dimension too. On the cover of the above TM, the parts are interchangeable with WO vehicles.

I got the shocks and spring plates from Walck's for my trailer. Same as for CJ2A- just asked them to send the right ones for the trailer. They are working out fine.

Brad,
Shocks for the Military Trailer are the same for the Front of the WWII Jeeps part# A169 so any of the 2A 3A shocks for the front should work fine.

Reviving an older thread to add info for posterity. I found this out awhile back but as it turns out, you DON'T treat the spring plates for the Bantam T3-C the same as you would the front axle of a CJ2A. The passenger side of the CJ2A front axle has one U bolt that is larger because it goes over the edge of the differential, so the holes are drilled differently in the plate. This doesn't match the ones on the Bantam trailer. The drivers side IS the same and the holes will line up. But I'll have to go research more at some point to find what the correct spring plate is for the trailer. (Long story short, I bought the wrong one. If anyone happens to know, that might save some googling for me and someone else in the future.)

I just used my original Bantam spring plates and welded on a short length of 5/8” rod. For the upper shock mount I used shock mounts that were removed from a junk Willy’s frame.
