"... Notice the white lettered tires. That was the thing back then."

Sooo glad that's over. I was part of it. And for that, I apologize.

A 1974 CJ5 that I had about 25 years ago. I traded the 74 to buy a boat. Traded that boat to buy a Corvette. Sold the Corvette to buy & fund my current retirement project, a 59 CJ3B.

Have to get in on this: 74 CJ 5 was my first Jeep. Judging from my wife’s hair and cool shades, this had to be around 1983. Check the cool retreads, trim rings and JC Whitney stripe kit! Jeep is long gone, but my bride is still here.

So many of us had (or have) AMC Jeeps.  Not to distract from flat fenders, but they were and still are cool (IMO).  Fun to drive both from time to time.

Actually, I think the white lettering is pretty cool, ... at least on sports cars. I wish they would come back in style.

Oops I wasn't aware that it had gone out of style...both .my daily driver Wrangler and my Dodge PU have white lettered tires.
I like the look so will probably buck 'current trends'.

If I were an advocate of full disclosure...  My 2015 F150 came from the factory with raised white lettered tires.  My '75 CJ5 has them also (on white wagon spoke wheels).

Here's my '75 again but 1yr later in my senior year, with my DFW4WD club decal.  nice muddy raised white letter tire (hehe) and elcheapo white spoke rims 'cause I couldn't afford jackmans back then. Got some now though!!

Factory Whitco top and Dick Cepek gas can carrier, anyone have one of those laying around?

Nice Jeep.  Does driving it now take you back to 'in the day'?
Sure does for me.  Almost feel the wind blowing my hair around 'xcepting it's long gone from the top of my head...
