Hey Scott,
I think the old gas engine exhaust has got to you.
1st digit = 4
2nd digit = 4
3rd digit = 8
4th digit = 7
5th digit = 8
OR
4 4 8 7 8
digit # 1 2 3 4 5

The serial number on this newest find is 41795. My other 1946 that I have had for several years is 50749. I also have 2 CJ3As and a 1942 MB.
