I’m looking for a part of the bulb socket. In the pic you can see one has its "tail" broken off. Since it moves in the socket, it would ground out. The socket is permanently attached to the base so can’t replace the whole socket. Suggestions of where to find a part or solution would be great.

Mackey,
I'll look in my parts tail lamps and see if I have anything. Wonder if I find one if it could be used for a pattern for a replacement board. If you google search vintage tail light contacts there are many single and 2 pin socket contact replacement pigtails available with even the Springs that could also be adapted. You could also convert to a modern 2 element bulb type and eliminate the need for separate bulbs.

The problem is the internal plate that separates the 2 sides inside. And the socket is attached to that plate. There is a brass rivet that holds the connector to the board and brass would be best for connectivity and not rusting. While it could be done, I’m trying to restore the way it was for history’s sake.

If a spare part becomes hard to find, I'd suggest searching for phenolic or bakelite sheet. I noticed McMaster Carr had several types that may be easily cut to create a replacement piece. Also, I noticed several listings elsewhere for brass rivets and hollow rivets that could be used to rebuild one of those plates for your socket.
BTW, nice to see what the "guts" look like on an Arrow.

Tonight I looked at one of my parts Arrow 41 Tail lamps and it to had broken bake lite boards so I took an old electronic circuit card about the same thickness and made one.
Scroll to the bottom on the Arrow Tail Lamp Page Do you think this might work for you? If so I'll play around this weekend and see if I can make a few. Edited by 48cj2a - 24 May 2022 at 7:35pm |

Nothing original available at this time and is why I thought I would try this reproduction piece. I was going to tinker and see if I could make at least a pair to repair mine that are broken and a couple more if you were interested if not I'll just make the pair i need for now.
Other 41's I have are nearly new if not NOS.
