I will need new springs for my trailer. Will springs from a CJ2A or CJ3B work? The measurment is 36 1/4 10 leaf. Any web site that has parts for a Bantam TC3 let me know
Thanks much

On the forum home page here and down towards the bottom of the list is a whole section dedicated to the Bantam trailer. You very likely will find the answer to your questions there.

Yep, front springs for a 2A are the same. Note: early trailers had the 2A springs, later had there own spring that looks diff, and makes the trailer sit lower. Good luck.

My recent acquisition, Bantam T3-C #21170 has FIVE leaves in each spring pack. I don't know if they are original to this trailer or not, but the #4 leaf on one is broken off by about 6". I suppose if the 1947 T3-Cs came with four leaves and one was broken that a PO might have added a shorter #5 leaf to try to compensate for that but I'm just not savvy enough about the T3-Cs to know.
Here is my question: Do I look for another five-leaf spring or do I look for a set of decent four leaf spring packs? I checked the Bantam list and found that it does not track the springs so I have no idea which way to go here... Your thoughts, gentlemen? |

I truly hope I'm not directing you to the wrong place but if memory serves me right back some 8-10 years ago I did a restoration of a Bantam T3-C and I purchased the springs for it at Saturn Surplus. Back then they were $60/ea. I just checked and the prices on these are still the same...unbelievable Here's the link to their website..http://www.saturnsurplus.com/trailer/trailer.htm I would honestly recommend you call them first and check to see if these springs they sell will fit your Bantam. Like I said, I did that restoration a very long time ago and I can't recall if these we're the ones I used. Their phone number is 717.692.9500. Good luck buddy! Joel

Thats an M-101 Trailer 5/4 ton trailer pictured. I'd be surprised if they fit but curious to hear what you find out.
Regular CJ-2A/3A springs are correct but which (frt or rear) escapes me at this senior moment.

The WWII jeep FRONT springs (shorter of the pair) fit the WWII Bantam/MBT trailers and I believe that at least the CJ-2A used the same springs as a WWII jeep so if the CJ-2A and the CJ-3B used the same springs....
Then the Bantam T3-Cs can use the WWII G529 and the CJ-2A and CJ/3B front springs. |

Joel....thanks for the tip on the springs. I am checking around with the guys here to see if anyone has a set of non-WWII springs they have replaced on their WWII trailer with something more like the WWII style.
I will check the MVCC meet in Lodi at the Jellystone/Tower Park Marina first as all kinds of parts show up there. That is in a couple weeks. |

Found a set of eight-leaf MB springs in decent shape. Just need to clean them up and put them on.
I have looked at all the pics on the list of trailers on the linked Bantam Trailer "T3-C" forum and found four leaves, five leaves, eight leaves and ten leaves. |

For what it is worth, my 1947 T3-C springs have 5 leaves. They also have the plate style shackles in the rear. Edited by takesiteasy - 17 Sep. 2018 at 2:42am |

I also have the 5 leaves springs on my '47 BT3-C. My trailer came with the plate style shackles but I switched them to the C-style shackles because my other ones where shot.
