I've heard That not only were Firestone tires used on the original 2A but that BF Goodrich were also used. Looking in the '45 parts list I see none listed.....Anyone have anything on this?

The reason I ask is I got three on a Jeep I got from northern Michigan. It seems I recall Bill Norris saying something about them.

Gary,

According to the Bill of Materials, BF Goodrich and Goodyears were OEM. No mention of Firestones.
Did you find some Goodriches, or Firestones? I'd really be interested in seeing the Goodriches.

Thanks,
Bill

Gary,

Interesting find!!! Are the Goodriches non directionals? Not sure if the tread shot is the Goodrich or Goodyear. I'll have to ask Keith Buckley to see if there is a way to see what year they were made to know if they are original or not.

THanks,
Bill

Sorry for the bad pics, I was doing this upside down in the rain. I can get better pics as the weather clears.  Oh, the thread shots are of the BF Goodrich tires.

So, you were standing on your head using just one arm for balance and taking the picture with the other hand?   Quite the talent!

Denton Tire company who makes small run tires and may have the molds for Good year tires. Denton made the WW2 tires and still makes small ww2 tires and other small run tires. I used to be a vendor for them years ago.

On the subject of tires, I cut a couple of ndt off a pair of 4"X 16" solid disc rims. They were Pharis brand also 6.00X16. I'd never heard of them before. I've got some pics somewhere, I'll post them if anybody is interested.

Gary,

I still have not heard back from Keith. Basically, what I wanted to know is if the Goodriches were ND or a differernt tread. If you have the real thing, that would answer the question.
