Far from rideable until I get a front rim.

Embarrassed to say I totally disassembled the front rim axle to clean and repack the bearings plus descale the rust and crud. Went to install the new to me (used) Schwinn S-7 tire and tube and could not get the bead to seat. Then I learned about the proprietary tire size of the S-7 series...thats about 3hrs I'll never get back. Hub says JOU YU 3 64, Rim is stamped CMC RIM

I also need another set of pedals to swap out the pair that were changed at some point. I'll then pull the entire pedal crank assemblies to clean and repack those bearings. I'm hoping to find cheap Typhoon or Hollywood in my area for parts. Too many skinny tire Breeze's, Collegiate's and over priced Aunt Betty's bikes recently acquired.

A hard lesson for most new to Schwinns..... and don't confuse them with the 'new' Schwinns at WallyWorld and other places.

The knurling on the rims is the identifier.

Not a bicycle, but it does have pedals, does that count?

My dad bought this for me from the Ford tractor dealer for my first birthday. He paid $35 for the tractor and $10 for the trailer. Not sure how he had the insight that this would be my favorite toy as the worn out solid rubber tires attest. I must have put a couple thousand miles on it over the years.

By the time I was 7, I wore the pedals out. Dad replaced them for me. By that time Ertl switched to black, mine were originally Ford blue. Other than that, its missing one hubcap and the hitch pin for the trailer. Its otherwise pretty original and complete.

My kids rode it too. Now its stored away waiting for grandkids some day.

Very nice tractor, Bill. That's a keeper.
Reminds of the bike we bought our son. It's a Gravel Blaster that my wife bought at K Mart. He rode the heck out of it and wore the back tire smooth. He was a speed demon. I'll never forget chasing him down a hill yelling at him to put the brakes on and watching the bike do the death wobble. He was one big raspberry and bleeding all over. I ran up to him and picked him up and give him a big hug. He apologized for bleeding on my shirt. He then got back on the bike and rode it home. At 5 he was tough as nails and so was that bike.

Great old pedal tractor with great history too!
My pop bought me a Hamilton USAF pedal JEEP when I was 4.
I don't have my original as my nephews destroyed it when I was in Jr high school.
