I have a 1946 Cj2a. What are you guys using for a bikini top and how are you fastening them to your windshield?

do a basic search here for bikini top. you will find lots.
and do a google search for CJ-2A bikini top and you will get gobs. and select images to get a ton of good pics to reference if you are making one. Edited by bight - 28 Sep. 2022 at 7:53pm |

I just used a 4x4' green canvas tarp 30mil (McMaster Carr 7882T129), common sense eyelets (95678A678), common sense turn button bases w/#7 stud (95678A674), & a cutting punch (95678A690). The holes for the fasteners were already in the windshield frame & I used the cutting punch to install the eyelets in the canvas to match the spacing on the turn button bases. It wraps over the roll bar I have & I just used some 1" cotton webbing thru existing grommet holes in the tarp and pop riveted the webbing to itself to secure it. The webbing loops thru existing footman loops on the tailgate & is tightened with buckles. Not as fancy as Jpet's custom sewn bikini tops, but for quick & dirty it looks pretty decent. Here is a link that I kind of copied, except I used common sense fastners. https://www.motortrend.com/how-to/diy-bikini-top-willys-jeep/ Edited by dasvis - 28 Sep. 2022 at 8:07pm |

Sparky, I've made one a few weeks ago and its actually working great at a very low cost.
I first made a test top with a cheap sail, installed a slide strip on the front window and the made a more durable canvas sail.
