I've begun the disassembly process of my CJ2A Farm Jeep engine and hidden behind the distributer I found this plate screwed to the engine. I originally thought it was a casting data tag until I pressure washed the grime build up and found the screws were real. Bummer! I took the head off and looked inside the water jacket. I can see the screws but no obvious cracks. I'll have to remove the plate to further investigate. My question is can anyone vouch for the Muggy Weld 72 and 77 rods I've seen advertised? Seems like a good candidate being in the water jacket area.

You should ask this in the Tech. section as you will probably get more response. I had a cracked block and had it pined at my machine shop. They did a great job and I have not had any problem with it. Sorry I can not tell you anything about the Muggy 72 and 77 rods.
