2 different brake drums.  The '45 parts list has 2 part numbers, both being "interchangeable" with each other, while the '47 & '49 lists show only the later number.  Going by that, I'm assuming:

Part # A-472 - DRUM, brake  (appears to be one-piece cast), from a Feb. '46:

Part # 640651 - Drum, brake  (appears to be 2-piece:  cast drum, heavy plate steel center disk), from a Dec. '47:

I have one other hub that I got off an early '48. it looks almost like the drum can be changed from the hub. I'm not sure as I haven't played with it yet.

Gary, from what i understand, from a thread over on the G, the latter hub you posted is a new style replacement..calling for the stud hub to placed inside, otherwise, the hub sits too far outward to get all of the washers and nuts  on to hold on the hub..low

Here's a few pictures of the two styles that came off my 48.

The one-piece drums, p/n A-472 (top), were on the front axle, and are slightly larger diameter (1/4") than the backing plate.

The two-piece, p/n 640651 (bottom), were on the rear axle, and are approximately the same diameter as the backing plate.
