Shocks:

Some OD paint will be necessary but I'm not sure how I will hide these shock towers. Maybe I'll make some OD canvas bags. Still thinking on that.

These are 12" shocks and BAM BAM pretty much uses all of it:

... I havent welded the towers all the way in yet because my welder is not that good so I'll weld them in good at work. Then I'll paint them and the shocks. I'll also have to cover them up with something.

Still mostly stock with a few slight changes:

I have some ideas for limiting the front and rear pumpkins. If I don't have to leave town, I'll get that done Monday. My Rockeater TC has shipped and it's suppose to arrive Thursday.

What did go with in the ROCKEATER? I have a 4:86 "super 18" I picked up. It was built 10 years ago and never installed.

Maybe a couple of mortar shells to cover your shock towers?

More changes:

I painted the shock towers which makes them look better, but not good enough:

... I'm thinking something like this?

I made a limit strap but the exhaust is in the way:

.... so I went with a smaller muffler and re-arranged it:

.

... I'll weld the saw-cut and paint it tomorrow.

Got my Rockeater TC and it's installed:

... at first I had some trouble till I remembered all the grinding I had to do on the old case to mount it to an SM465:

.... This transfer case is tougher to shift. I will have to change my twin stick a little to get more leverage, but I doubt it will be popping out of gear. ...anywho, the snow ball is slowing down. I have a few little things to do yet but I think I'l will be ready for Moab:

Since last year at EJS, I've made the following changes:

Raised under belly 1-5/8"
Tied roll-cage to the frame
re-cut tires
Changed differentials from 3.73 to 4.56
Detroit locker in rear
All new springs and 12" rear shocks
Stretched wheel base 5"
Rockeater transfer case.

Before:

..... after:

You can change out or cut down the tension springs on the shift rails. Jack uses very heavy springs. It will shift a lot easier with lighter tension.

The problem is that my shifters are too long on the shift rail side of the fulcrum.

..... not enough leverage. Today, I shortened the lever by about half and made some extension pieces to bolt to the shift rails. Now they have a firm and positive feel when shifting. I’ll get some pics tomorrow.
