Would it be possible to delete threads on the buy/sell forum when the items are sold or bought? Do you follow me? I went through a bunch of threads where the items listed had been sold. Much wasted time on my part.

Maybe it could be set up so that the buyer/seller could delete the item, kind of like Craigslist. Once you have sold the item you delete your own thread.

One thing the seller can do, is after the item or items have sold, is to go into 'post options', select edit, and change the 'Topic' to read SOLD.

If they OP did this, then it at least would be readily seen by users browsing the forum, before they opened the thread.

I agree.  Here's the beginning of the thread that shows the topic as edited.

I guess that will do, if people elect to add the "Sold" next to their original post. Maybe when you or I see an item that was listed as for sale and has been sold we can "encourage" the person listing the item to make the note that it has been sold.

I try and get the guys on my local forum to do that.

But since I'm an admin there, I can also edit the listing header if the item(s) are sold.

It can be frustrating reading a 'For Sale' thread, just to get to the end and find the item sold.Ouch

Yeah. That's my point.

In a perfect (virtual) world the "for sale" and "wanted"  threads would be deleted as soon as they find a buyer/seller. It would clean up that element of the forum very nicely.

Please don't think that my suggestion is in any way critical of what you do. I appreciate your (and all others who administer the forum) work tremendously. Thanks for everything.

Yes, on my end it does.....explain what you are seeing different. I may be missing something switching back and forth looking at them......the both are edited with (sold) on them.

O.K. I got it......guess I didn't realize it was that confusing to have to scroll to the top to see the rest of the post.LOL

So, other than the scrolling, the two threads look the same, right?

I guess its just my way I never like to get rid of anything! I like the idea of putting sold in the heading.

I think it's useful to keep the "sold" threads since it provides a little history even though we don't know with certainty any selling prices.
