mbullism was gracious enough to send me a air horn but unfortunately it did not fit my carburetor. I am still looking.

Your measurement 2.4455” is meaningless. The “air horn” fits between the rubber seal and the top (real air horn) of the carburetor. The clamp fits where your caliper is.

Bruce, that 2.445" IS the outside diameter of the "real" carb air horn, part number 116554 (Carter part 6-312S for those following along at home Wink).  It's entirely the crux of the issue, as the "Horn", air cleaner to carb (part number 641918) has an inside diameter of 2.324".  Almost 1/8" "too small".

I put "too small" in quotes, because when I measure the "real" carb air horn, part number 116554 (Carter part 6-312S for those following along at home) on my 636SA I get
.
.
and the "Horn", air cleaner to carb, part number 641918, fits Thumbs Up

OK, I thought Dennis was measuring the outside of the rubber seal. Now I’m confused.

It is not meaningless, it is what the outside diameter of the the rubber on the carb Embarrassed
I thought the rubber seal was suppose to be between both pieces, clearly I was wrong. Went outside and removed the rubber seal and you already know what I possibly said to myselfLOL
I really hope I'm not the only one whom thought this.

For the crossover tube does the air horn butt up to it, go over or in?

The air horn goes inside the crossover tube, and then a rubber seal, again, goes over the joint to seal it.

Confused  Now I'm confused LOL

(I thought you were measuring across the metal of the "real" air horn in the two relief cuts in the seal Embarrassed... kind of like I was measuring the "real" air horn below the clamp and the crossover tube horn)
