Thought folks may be interested. Had heard of but not seen a heat shield. Photos of a WWII generator that appears to be complete and unmodified. Can't confirm but thinking it's original. Perhaps others can confirm it is or not. |

While I cannot confirm if this is "original", the gen-set that we had on the family farm had that exact heat shield. We bought it at an army surplus sale in 1965-ish. It was Willys powered. We may still have it in our junk yard. If we ran it continuously in 105+ temperatures, it would still overheat. We fixed that by installing a radiator from some big tractor.
