Needed to change out to a newer type of clutch/brake pivot bracket for a dual  M/C bracket. I ordered and received the later version pivot bracket that the M/C conversion called for.
Looked good until I tried to slide the clutch/brake bell crank throw it. No go.  Further inspection showed that the pivot bracket was heavily painted inside and out.  Ended up removing all the paint and dressing the inner sleeve with a bottle hone.  Tried to slide the bell crank through the pivot bracket and got about 2 inches in.  Upon examining the bell crank shaft, I noticed that where the keeper was machined out there as a ridge left by the machinist.  Cleaned that up, tried sliding it back into the pivot bracket and it stopped about 3 inches.   Mic'd out the pivot bracket and one half was .005 smaller then the other side. Also where the zerk fitting is, the machinist left attached metal debris.  Did not cleanup the threads correctly.  Fantastic quality!!!

By using a hone, I was able to correct the problem. I believe that when they welded the outer bracket to the sleeve, the heat distorted the one side.
The simple step of truing the inner sleeve, after welding, and leave it unpainted would of saved me hours of work.  I hope this report will help someone out.  I bought these parts from a well known supplier.

It is NOT a Jeep Willys! It is a Willys jeep.

WalcksUnhappy

Today I put the bell crank in my wood lathe and found it has a slight bow.  Both pieces  are junk, MHO.
I made do with what I had and the bell crank slides easily now.

Will this never end?

I rabidly avoid Omix parts after my experiences and the spate of broken sector shafts. So when I rebuilt my T90 I bought all Crown parts - everything I could find was Crown or Omix.

I had to hone the bushing in the brand new second gear to get it onto the brand new main shaft. Then one of the brand new blocking rings was squished slightly out-of round.

Now, about 5000 miles later, second gear and the synchro assembly are shot and need to be replaced. Again.

And don't get me started on the Crown speedometer....
