Found this one a couple of weeks ago. Got it home last weekend.

PO had it running by pouring gas in the carb. Not much rust, just under the gas tank and bottom of the toolbox. It needs a few things, like brakes, wiring. You know anything that could dry rot has... Thank  goodness not much has been done by Bubba other than the horns.

Lots to do to get it running, driving and stopping to enjoy this fall.

the best part about those horns and that roll bar is how much better it'll look once they're gone ;) , but looks good!

The Cub was my dad's project about 5 years ago. He passed away in December 2015 after getting it finished that summer. It sat untouched until 2 months ago. I had to clean the carb but she runs like a top now.

great to have that from your Dad.  Here's hoping that's one of the last times that 2A needs an assist Thumbs Up

(My neighbor still mows with that same tractor... love it.)

The cub is 2 years newer the the jeep. As for the assist, I did hear the first signs of life out of the jeep last night. It didn't want to idle. More on that tonight.

When I first got my CJ2A, I spent the better part of a week REMOVING stuff that 'ol Bubba had glued, bolted or welded on. Very rewarding to see the Jeep under all the 'improvements'.

Good for you. I have done a lot of work on old vehicles. I was out sitting on a friends front porch and I heard a familiar sound. It was an old JD model B out working a field. Surprising how some of those beasts are still out there working.

After checking all the fuel lines and finding the inlet to the fuel pump loose enough to turn by hand it will now run with the choke on about half way. It runs well enough I couldn't resist a slow ride up the road and back. Shifts smooth. No bad noises from any of the gears! Got to get the carb cleaned/adjusted then brakes, wiring and a fluid change.

Great tribute to your dads memory with both the Cub and your Jeep,  he is no doubt proud of your efforts.  Lost my dad during my 2003 combat tour in Afghanistan, he was my best friend and mentor, and he would be thrilled with my overhaul efforts today and all my projects.... he gave me my love of old vehicles.  Welcome to the forum!
