I am looking for some detailed pictures of diamond side steps (Original Equipment) installed on a CJ-2A. From the pictures I have of our family Jeep before the frame of installation where the restorer removed and pitched the original steps we had, I see a small bold in the body. So I am thinking I need to drill a hole in the body, but would prefer to only do that once and correctly. I am new to the forum and have not been able to find "Installed detailed picture" but they may already exist. If so, please just provide directions.

Back in August I installed a repro diamond step on my CJ2A. Here is a link to my post about it.
I'll caution you that the repro steps are for a CJ5 (I believe). They need to be modified to work on a CJ2A. My post is explains how to do it.

Chief,
I did almost the same thing you did. Except I restored a beaten up original set only to find they were for a CJ5. Going to have to put them on eBay since I don't want to cut up originals. It appears that one seller does have the correct ones: I spend way too much time looking for CJ2A stuff on eBay. Every once in a while I find a nugget. Micah

Those do look nice, but kinda pricey too. But it saves a lot of work. I'm satisfied with mine.
