I was watching an old movie on Youtube and saw this interesting arrangement of the front seats in a CJ2A and thought it might give you guys some ideas. It's Road House from 1948 with Ida Lupino.

2/3, 1/3 seats do not know if they ever came on a 2a. They were an option on CJ5's. We have had that seat on three 5's, two came to us used the one we ordered in 1973 was new.

Maybe it's the angle, but that seat looks like it's hanging outside the edge of that 2A.
Upon further analysis, it almost has to be hanging out.

I think athawk11 is correct I think that is in fact a rear seat stuffed in there.

I looked up old photos of the actress Ida Lupino.
I would not have thrown her out of bed for eating crackers.

I took another look at the movie and it appears to be the back seat stuffed up front (nothing hanging out). Can't be too comfy in the center "seat"! |

I did measure my rear seat. 32" wide. It's tight, but will in fact fit in the passenger seat position.

In High school when CHUG was my daily driver I had a couple cushions stuffed between the Front seats and a little backrest cushion in between the backs held in place with a strap. And my girl friend at the time used to sit on the cushion with her back up against my right shoulder and her long legs where they would be if she was sitting in the passenger seat. I even had a seat belt in the middle for her. She never complained.
