Hi all,

In anticipation of the arrival of my 2A, I am toying with completing the restoration with either:
1.  Dark blue with red wheels
2.  Dark blue with orange wheels
3.  Dark maroon with black wheels
4.  Dark maroon with dark maroon wheels
5.  Dark maroon with red wheels

Sorry if I don't know the exact color names.  I think its Normandy or Luzon? In either case, I was thinking about going a touch darker than the factory shades, and probably matte finish.

Would some of you share your thoughts and maybe some pics of your blue or maroon Willys to help me make my choice?

Thanks!
Shenton

I'd go with 1 or 2, but blue is my favorite color so I'm kinda prejudiced.
There's a reason it's called Ol' Unreliable

I was on the fence about Maroon until I painted ours. Wheels are Rustoleum Navajo white.

drm101, what is the color mix and paint brand you used to replicate the Luzon Red?

The Navajo White appears pretty close to Universal Beige. It was more cream-yellow than tan, per yours.

I have a tool box lid with the original Luzon Red (maroon)on the underside. I have lent it out before to one of our members for color matching. It is still available if anyone wants to borrow it for a match.

I'd opt for option 2 (only because I'm a Broncos fan) or option 3 because I like the Luzon red. The red one pictured above is pretty nice with the cream colored wheels. I like that better than the red with black wheels I think.

Normandy blue, red wheels and red seats is one of my favorite Color combinations for a CJ-2a.
