This Saturday, November 12th at 3pm, we will be holding the first meeting of the Colorado Flat Fender Club.  We are meeting at the Brewery Bar II located at 2nd and Kalamath in Denver.  We hope to have Fred Coldwell there of "Preproduction Jeeps" fame, Daron of "Agrijeep" fame, and the boys from Mile Hi Jeep Rebuilder there.  We will plan out the basics for the club.  It is intended for early jeeps that are mostly stock.  We will plan some trail rides, show, swap meets, and parades.  Maybe we will rotate meets around the state so all can join us.

Call me for detail.

Just curious, I thought it was fixed now where you had to login to post, has this been changed?........Lew, this question has nothing to do with your post or topic, was just curious about the board login.......Good luck with the club out there!

The Colorado Flat Fender Club is having it's next meeting at Daron Wanbergs house on Feburary 4 (sat.) at 7pm.  We are going to watch original Willys-Overland factory films.  Most of which have never been published.

Please RSVP to Lew Ladwig at fladwig@msn.com

Daron has a studio screen and will use modern methods to project the images that he has saved from old films.  Daron lives in the Denver area near Florida and Wadsworth.  I will give specific directions when you RSVP.

If those films have been ditized, is there any chance that we might be able to purchase copies?

Thanks

Pete

I will look into that.  I know Daron has some film on his web site.  Check out "3d imaging" or something like that.  or agrijeep.

It is looking like we are going to have the "who's who" of the jeep world at this meeting.  A couple of authors of books and DVD's on jeep history, a couple of guys with some of the largest collections of jeeps in the world!  And then there will be me!  Just another jeep bum.

See ya there!

Lew

Where is Lafeyette, CO? WE are looking at a project in Lamar, CO and I may have a site visit coming up the 1st week of February.  I have relatives in Colorado Springs & Woodland Park.  If the timing is right I may have to join the Colorado flat fender club if you'll have a newbie.

Lew, looks like you have created a good thing in the western heartland. I was talking with a good friend here in the midwest and entertaining a shot at a club here ( MN. Wisc. Ill. MI. IO.). What would you suggest for us to start our own chapter of a flat fender club?

Hey guys,

I hope you can make it.  If you think you might show then send me a email ( fladwig@msn.com ) and I will send you directions.

We fired up this club a couple of months ago and I think the attraction is the restoration and history factor.  Colorado has tons of jeep clubs but they are all for trail rides and rock crawlers.  It also helps that we have several of the world experts living here.  That makes the meetings great.  With so much good info and artifacts  right here there is a lot of draw.  I think I would keep things simple and loose to start.  If the club is too formal you may scare some folks away.  Don't charge dues unless you all want a news letter or something like that.

Lew,

You have done well. It doesn't hurt that alot of the big boys are in your neighborhood. I was thinking about the rest of "flyover country" Here in MN. We need something, I know a few in Wisc. want something also. Anywhere in the midwest already have something?

CFFC,

I would like to plan a easy spring cruise for when the weather warms up.  I was thinking we could go by Fred's place in the hills and maybe Jim's place.  Just for a quick stop and check out a few jeeps.  Not to impose on them.  We could have a mild off road stretch maybe.  If you know the area above Sedalia let me know.  I think we could include a trip into town for some show off and eating.  Maybe a Sonic drive in for lunch.  Email me: fladwig@msn.com
