All,

I'm getting an odd "surge" when I drive.  She idle's fine and revving seems to be smooth, but for the past week or so, when I drive and start to accelerate (cold or warm) I get a hesitation consistently.  I replaced the head gasket about 8 months ago and all was running fine.  I decided to test compression and got the following starting from the water pump (#1 and working back to the firewall #4)

1 - 90
2 - 85
3 - 89
4 - 90

I didn't do a wet test, only dry.  Attach the tester and crank it with the starter for a few seconds.  Check, and do it again to confirm results.

Looks like the low end of acceptable, but I'm an apprentice in this area.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks,

-Thomas
