I recently purchased a 48' CJ2A. Unfortunately, one of the previous owners removed all of the ID tags from the body. There is a frame ID still on it which actually puts the chassis in the 1946 rage of serial numbers. It is registered by that serial number, but registered as a 48'.
Is there another way that I can verify the year of my jeep? I know it really isnt that big of a deal, but I just want to know.

Check for numbers on tailgate. Body, frame, engine, trans, tc, distributor, starter, generator all have dates on them, but parts can be changed a lot in 70+ years.

If no stamped number on front edge of drivers toe board gusset then a Willys tub and late 48. If tub has un oval steering column hole in toe board then early as in 45-early 46. Tool indents early 46. Spare tire mount left side 1948 (about 10K 48's made lefty) single long skinny data plate 48 (6 holes) 3 separate data plates on dash 46 3 groups of 4 holes. Trailer plug above left tail light most likely not 48.

Not quite. The socket hole disappeared in late '48 production, as I recall. Ol' Unreliable, S/N 177xxx (can't remember what's after that) has the hole.

If the data plate with the S/N on the frame is on the inside of the left frame rail, it's a '46.
After that, they decided to move to the outside where it could be read with out so much twisting around.

Thanks guys for all the info. I was just going off of the actual serial numbers. It was on the outside of the frame on the front left. S/N 70925

Wow, the frame tag is still there, even with the Bubba repair! Bubba usually destroys the tag when using that repair.

Well, the frame is from a '46. Is there an ACM number stamped on the driver's side body tub gusset? If so, you might find that the tub is a '46 too. Unless it's an ACM number from a '48...
