I have read in various places that there are different head stud lengths, but I'm battling to find definitive answers on what length and how many of each.

Seans parts data shows no difference in length for 349368: 15 x 3-9/16" long. This is what I am most inclined to believe.

Some vendors talk about needing "12 short and 3 long", whatever this means.

And just thinking about it, 5 studs have "extra things" between the head and the nut, notably the 3 under the oil filter bracket at the front, and the 2 under the air cross-over tube. Should these studs be longer to account for the "extra things"?

Looking forward to finding out!

Just to add a little.....The first two studs on the manifold side, from the front, where used to mount brackets for hyd.pumps, gov's ect. Joe W

That would have made it a little nicer if Willys would have done that as well as the head studs that hold the air cleaner and oil filter but they made them all the same length for the CJ2a.
