I may need to replace the d44 19 spline,5:38, carrier.
I pulled the carrier bearing off with my hand and noticed Bubba peened? the carrier hub? with a hammer and punch....old trick but a bad trick to tighten up the carrier bearing to carrier hub. Will know more soon In case I need a carrier, does anyone have a good one? |

FYI the "carrier' is the big cast iron portion of the axle housing weldment.
If 1 or 2 of the carrier journals are damaged then what you need is a differential "case" If you need... have a very good original Series IV D44 differential case. It fits 3.92 through 5.38 ratios with 19 spline side gears. I also have a 30 spline D44 carrier available. If you come across a an open D44 differential case with 30 spline side gears then know that.... D44 open differential cases having 30 spline side gears are not inter-changable with the 19 spline open cases.

My bad...I thought that you wanted an open case.
I don't have any Powr Lok units to sell at this time.
Only have a 30 spline Dana Trac Loc or else the standard D44 open differential cases. |

Ken i posted what the power loc looks like along with ID numbers. Also tooks way to many pics to show the differential parts for IDing and the wear of parts. Any help would be appreciated. If you have any leads to find a power loc case, please let me know. Thanks, Jim
