Have acquired a 12 volt electric winch with the names Desert Dynamics and THOR on it. Appears to resemble a Ramsey Winch.  Anyone know anything about it?

I recall seeing ads for those winches back in the seventies in my Pickup Van 4WD magazines.

I remember them too. I think I may have some info somewhere. When I get back home in a couple days, I’ll look around.

Sidewinder was Hickey and then Advanced Adapters

Hickey was also part owner in Desert Dynamics Winches which were eventually sold to Pierce Winches who also has the THOR Winches: https://www.piercearrowinc.com/pierce-arrow-manuals/
