Does your '2A have a "Name"?

Many of you have named yours.  I was one of many who did not decide on a name until recently.A couple years ago,  at an event,  Jpet asked if my '2A had a name.   I had never really considered naming it before.  That weekend I thought up a few ideas,  but nothing definite.

I'M not good at naming things. My 3B is the B and the Commando is the C. The Buick is the blue ick. My motorhome is known by many names from Grasshopper to Runamuca. There are a few more names for it I don't want to tell you.

I kinda feel like they'll name themselves given enough time and thought.  After rejecting most everything my wife called my 2a, lol, and tiring of "the blue jeep", I came to "Plowshare"... MB's and GPW's being the sword, something developed for military use repurposed for civilian life after the war.

I haven't actually named mine yet either.  I just refer to it as the '48 or the Willys.  Someone did scribe "PHIL" into the steering wheel.  So maybe that's a sign...

My Willys don't have names, but I'm betting the most popular here might be "Rusty."

I live in the foothills of the mountains near Yuma and we wheel in the desert and mountains. We often see desert ram and my 48cj2a seems to get around like and old Billy goat. So we named Willy Goat.

If you don't know what to name your jeep, don't rush it. The jeep will tell you his/her name eventually. I like the names that are actual names more than a title or description.

Ron, Have you thought about calling the jeep "Uncle Wilson"?

This cj means a lot to me. It is an exact doppleganger for the '46 that I grew up with. That 2A was the companion and enabler on many a northern Maine fishing adventure with my Dad. It excelled on the narrow tree crowded twitch trails that typlify the Northwoods. The little jeep humbled Broncos and pickups, whose body panels took a beating on the trees. I remember us crossing beaver floods in it, the water up to the top of the step over. Then we used it logging on our land. For many years that little GoDevil grunted in front of a tight twitch chain, pulling veneer and sawlogs. Pine, spruce, fir, maple, birch and the heavy oaks and hemlocks. I was thrilled by chance to stumble on a replacement for that beloved jeep last summer. I give you "Wallace, a '48
