Started cutting the overgrown fields in front of our house with the "new" brush cutter we got Saturday (birthday present). Works great and I think my wife was even more pleased than me!

Oops! Its a DR Field and Brush cutter. We bought it used, don't know if they still make this exact model but there are lots of similar ones out there. This one has a15 hp Kohler engine. I can get the model number for you when we get home this afternoon if you want.

Its been pointed out to me that the photo needs some explanation.
I had a pulley in the front of the truck bed and one end of the rope tied to the mower and the other tied to the Jeep. So when I backed the Jeep, the mower was pulled into the truck. Worked
as I hoped, and it only took one beer!

With our recent trip over the Cliffhanger trail in Moab a couple of days ago, Carrie and I did not have enough Jeeping in, so we took our first trip of the season around The Racetrack trail in the Abajo Mountains which are about five minutes from our house.  Two weeks ago, there was too much snow to get through the trail.  This trail is not very long but it goes up to 9,000 feet and through beautiful Aspen forests.  The first trip of the season requires the chainsaw and winch to remove windfall.  And, as you will see, I did not carry enough fuel for the chainsaw!  After running out of fuel with the chainsaw, around the next corner were four trees across the trail.  The question was asked what the bar on the front of my Jeep was for and you will see in the photos why I built it and how I use it.  You will also see the pitfalls of driving over logs, because once in a while you get hung up.  This is an example of our regular routine.  We are up in the hills about four times a week and often are moving trees out of the way.

Heading to greener pastures with the moms and kids. I cruise through them in my jeep so often, I had to get out and yell at them to get 'em moving! Perfect ranch vehicle for 'moseying' around and getting some work done too.
