Another of the Jeep train. I needed both a tiller and brush mower for today's project. The spot is almost a mile back in the woods. To save some time I hauled both in one trip.
Actually I took them in separately, a day apart, but took them both out at same time: I was a little concerned about the creek crossing but had no issues at all. I did not think about it at the time, but looking at photo it appears like the gray trailer might actually be "pushing". Maybe that is why it was so easy.

It is actually my son's. 125 acres It was mostly overgrown when he bought it. I have spent a lot of time opening trails over the years. I like doing that kind of work, and Wilson comes in really handy.
This week's project was not trails, but cleaning off and leveling a bluff overlooking the river that borders the property. This spot was uneven and totally full of briars, not possible to even walk thru it. Today: Edited by JeepFever - 01 Mar. 2023 at 9:11pm |

Wow! That’s awesome! I have 20 acres to make trails in, I’d be in heaven if I had 125!
Do I spy a teepee in one of those pics? Edited by Scratch - 01 Mar. 2023 at 9:10pm |

On Earthday '23 we got around on some wet trails, planting trees. Note: Trailer was hand built from parts from different sources, not a Bantam. 1950s-era. Someday I'll paint it to match the jeep (he said starting at least 15 years ago). |

All the rain this year has washed out the trail I use for my morning bike ride. So, I did a little bit of trail maintenance.

Everyone around here just calls them a roaster ( the neighbor gave us the seed). I think the commercial name is North Georgia Candy Roaster, or just candy roaster. Its a little like a pumpkin and a butternut. Makes a really good pumpkin pie. |

Thanks! I was raised in N.Ga. and had never heard of them. Did a Google search and found out a bit more about them. Sounds good. But Mommy never told me about them.

Did some hauling a couple of Saturdays ago my mom 82 decided to take on a room mate (old friend they are thick as thieves) so they needed to move into a two bedroom same apt complex. So rather then fight the canopy on my Dakota loading boxes I figured CHUG would do just fine as we were only moving her about 500 yds. And no big furniture so 4 loads later all done. (Photo from a plow ad. Website didn't like my pics.) In an average year -- if one ever existed -- we get about 110 inches of snow. The record is 201 inches. Both of the CJs have reinforced frames and are equipped with hydraulically operated plows. In moderately high torque -- low speed operations, I don't find the Hurricane offering any advantage (or disadvantage) over the Go Devil. My Blue Dispatcher is sort of like Paul Bunyan's axe. It may not have a part that it left Toledo wearing. The drivetrain is pure CJ-3A. My Red 2-WD is better than average in snow, but the 4-WD helps a lot when operating in heavy snow. It works for a living as well. Now I just need to make myself a gold and green Surrey for the summertime. Edited by YooperDispatch - 24 Oct. 2023 at 2:17pm |

Another firewood working post with a little twist.
My son mentioned a couple weeks ago that a red oak had fallen across one of trails on his property, and might be decent firewood. Today I went to check it out, and was surprised how large it was. (the trunk is visible above passenger side of Jeep) I cut out a few blocks, but they were way too heavy to lift, so I built a "ramp" out of smaller pieces. I hope to get back tomorrow, but will bring a bigger trailer, and a "real" ramp with me. Edited by JeepFever - 21 Feb. 2024 at 10:24pm |
