I am having trouble finding information for the emergency brake cable routing and attachment points on my 48 2a. I have a bracket mounted to the firewall where the cable come through with two holes in it. I have the cable hooked up to the e brake lever behind the transfer case, but no way to fasten the outside of the cable to anything.
can someone point me in the right direction.
Thank you

Jake,
There are a couple of clips that you need, one goes around the end of the cable housing at the firewall and attaches to the bracket, the other clip goes around the other end of the housing and attaches to the trans crossmember, don't think I have any pictures, but if you do a search, this has been discussed a few times in the past with pictures if my memory serves me right. I think these clips are available, they just loop around the cable but have a tab that prevents them from turning when they're bolted down. Hope this helps |

There is also a clip (the kind that hold down the electrical wiring) that screws into the passenger side of the bellhousing.

Thanks ,
Are the clips at both ends of the cable same as the electrical wire clips ?
The emergency brake has never been hooked up since my dad purchased the jeep 30 some years ago, so I have nothing to go by, I bought a new cable, The handle was in the tool box(I can't believe the handle stayed in that tool box under the seat for that long without getting thrown out or used for something else), so I had that, and also had the clevis that hooks to the e-brake lever behind transfer case.

Now, thats what I was looking for.
I seem to be better at working on the jeep than this computer stuff, I could not find that when I searched.
Thanks a million
