The Jeep Ronald Reagan made famous by driving Barbara Walters around his ranch was a 'scroungy' CJ6, not a Scrambler...

I own a CJ2A now, but I used to own a CJ3B years ago....Some people think they look funny but I will always have a soft place in my heart for the CJ3B's...I think they are beautiful :) Sure wish I had kept mine but I was just a dumb 18 yr old kid....Oh well such is life. :)

Obviously some sadly misinformed zombie put together that video clip.
Look at the purported 1954 CJ-5 complete with a post 1975 type of roll bar and mirrors.. Ha Ha Ha !
Even has wagon wheels.
Wow that ones just too far out like crazy man crazy !

A few thoughts on this:

It’s a fun animation to watch, but there are a number of mistakes made.  It would have been wise to have had this reviewed by someone with a strong Jeep evolution back round prior to release.

There was a fairly heated discussion a few years back with a gentleman that insisted that later manufacturers completely broke this lineage, and that the current Wrangler should not be considered the young sibling of the Bantam/Pigmy/MA/GPW.  His argument was based on one marketing decision where Kaiser proclaimed “The End of an Era”.  Most here argued that the Wrangler has a clear lineage to the early versions.

I wonder what his reaction would be now.  Like this animation, many new marketing campaigns from Renault explicitly tie the lineage of the Wrangler to the early Bantam/Willys versions.

I guess the "Jeep Wave" phenomenon will continue.

One of the Jalopnik writers (that actually is a forum member here) actually pointed out a number of the screw ups.  Either way I am impressed with everyone's knowledge of these great vehicles and I hope one day I'm as smart as y'all.
