The central PA hills are echoing with the sweet sound of a turbodiesel Willys....

Seth,

This is awesome work! I hope you will consider bringing the jeep to the Willys Reunion. It's not that far away!

Ditto jpet's suggestion--the Spring Reunion's in Ohio. Your VWillys will be quite a popular attraction.

Thanks guys! It would be fun to take it to the reunion. Where/when is it. At the moment I dont have a way to haul the jeep, so I would have to figure that out....

Great project! now you need to get the ALH tuned!  Talk to Jeff at Rocket Chip, add 520 nozzles a 4 bar map, and a bigger turbo, should be able to get a 3-400 ft/lbs of torque and around 160 hp or soBig smile    It did wonders for my 03!

Wow, having both of Falcon's oil-burner CJs at the Spring Meeting would be a gas....er, a diesel!

They'd "spark" plenty of "clatter" among the Willys flat-fender faithful.

Haha I would love to make it there. I will have to see if its possible.

WindyHill- Yes these little engine can make some impressive power. My daily driver is a 2003 ALH wagon. It has nozzles 11mm pump and malone stage 3 tune with a vr6 clutch. It rips. I do believe I will be keeping this one stock. I doubt the clutch would take much above a stage 1 tune. But it would be cool roast the tires and roll some coal. Maybe I will throw in some sprint nozzles and a stage 1 or 2 tune and just take it easy on the skinny pedal haha!

Randy- The tires are cooper discovery STT Pro. size = 215/85-16

It was weird today..... I dont really have any major work to do on the jeep. I am waiting on my exhaust to get here, the windshield frame is at the glass shop.... so I just tinkered. I cleaned, painted the front calipers. I also dressed up and serviced the cutlas hubs. They are one of my favorite little details on this jeep. I also changed the front diff fluid and went over all the u bolts and driveshaft bolts. Im beginning the pre-flight check list. Ive had this thing apart so many times I needed to make sure everything had been torqued. I installed the boost gauge, and tach. I got all my lights working and installed turn signals. I know their not original but with the way people drive around here I feel they are a safety item!

I also took some glamour shots.

I cant remember If I posted this on here or not, but I had this cool decal made. I wanted it to look original but have some VW TDI flair!

Falcon, you still running the straight exhaust, sans muffler?

And, is the jeep prepped for PA state inspection?

Thanks guys! There is no muffler or exhaust in the video, but there will be one on it once the exhaust is done. This jeep will have antique plates so there is no inspection required in PA.

That muffler is almost too pretty to tuck underneath a jeep. From where did you source that Jones 'cigar'?
