The floor by the shiftier was pretty messed up so i decided to weld in a graft piece from a donor.
It was ripped to fit the Studebaker engine. They also covered up the PTO hole. Graft in place Welded in place. Edited by 48CJ2 - 30 Dec. 2016 at 2:49am |

Been working on the floor some more, trying to get it finished up.
Here are the floors nearly ready, painted in epoxy primer, minus toolbox. So i ran into a problem with the tool box, the column between the floors had been welded by PO and wasn't exactly true (flat) from front to back. The box had a 1/4 inch gap. I also had the gusset on the passenger side slightly too far back. You cant see it very well in the picture but i had to notch the diver side to get the top to overlap the bed. Here is the box (mostly) welded in. I used some clamps, hammer and heat to get the toolbox and floor to line up. I probably over-welded the side i just want to be sure that there was no stress on that part of the weld. |

So the great thing about this message board is that it provides inspiration. I realized that i have been working on the body since last August! Thanks everyone for posting your projects! Anyway here are some updates! Decided to replace the driver side quarter panel. Finally got it in place, took a while but turned out all right.
Tail light panel, corner seems good. I picked up a window frame off CL. Took two days to get the inner frame out. The inner frame was pretty rusty, thinking about a replacement. I decided to make sure it had a good fit before i got too far. Edited by 48CJ2 - 21 June 2017 at 4:52am |

FINALLY finished the body work. Well good enough to hand off to the paint shop.
This part of the project seemed to take forever. I took the body off the frame back in 2016. |

The bodyshop called yesterday and got the Willys done early!
For the record and incase anyone was interested, this was done by a local Maaco body shop. I was looking at keeping it within budget but didnt have the where-with-all (space or time) to do the paint it myself. This was the $699 single stage. Edited by 48CJ2 - 26 Jan. 2018 at 11:19pm |

I like the color too. I am waffling between red and orange. My wife says it’s going to be yellow.
That’s a good looking Jeep.

I really like the orange, I am going with a matt/semi gloss black hard top. With the visable frame, wheels and top black it should look good.

So I um... bought the "incorrect" exhaust system. I rigged up some temporary mounts so i can get it started with the muffler on. I would return it but I picked it up over a year ago. I'll just pretend its a VEC.
